The University Singers were founded in 1964 in conjunction with Ball State Teachers College becoming a university. Since that time, the University Singers have traveled up and down the heartland of Indiana, across the nation, and around the world in an endeavor to promote Ball State University, all while delivering a special brand of entertainment, centered around songs of faith, hope, laughter, and love.
As the group grows and times change, our needs to upgrade our technology, design and produce new fabulous costumes, learn and perform cutting edge choreography, and travel to the far reaches, grow greater in cost. The organization is poised to move into the next several years in such a way that it will be able to maintain its relevance and importance as an entity that promotes the good work of Ball State University in a substantial way. In order to take those important steps, the organization has identified several methods or tangible items that will make this possible. Those things include a high level of visibility through the various forms of media (social, TV, radio, print, etc.), as well as an elevated, even more professional approach to performances with the utilization of more state-of-the-art sound equipment, and the added enhancement of lighting.
Support from our alumni has always been an important part of what makes us more able to serve the institution and live out our mission of providing the highest level of excellence in entertainment, identifying and training leaders, captivating audiences, representing our university and state with professionalism, and building a bridge between our heritage and our future.
