Ball State provides students with the opportunity to explore intercultural issues around the world through high quality study abroad programs. Each year, hundreds of Ball State students study on summer, semester, and yearlong programs in over 40 countries.
However, many more students want to add a global component to their Ball State experience. The most common barrier they mention is financial need. We are currently only able to award approximately 20-25% of scholarship applicants with funding. Additionally, this funding represents just a small fraction of a student’s total program cost. Our unit relies entirely on the generosity of donors to support these students.
We are excited to join #OneBallState as we officially kickoff fundraising for our new Alumni Fund for Study Abroad (#5357). In recognition that study abroad is often the most transformational part of a Cardinal’s Ball State experience, this fund provides alumni a place to “pay it forward” to future Cardinals. Donations to the fund honor the impact study abroad has made on donors’ own career and personal development, while expanding access to these life-changing opportunities for future generations.
