Ball State Learning Center - One Ball State Day 2025

What is the Learning Center?

The Learning Center is part of University College, which offers student-centered programs and services that enhance students’ success. The mission of the Learning Center is to enhance the academic success of Ball State University students by providing free peer tutoring (appointment-based and drop-in), Supplemental Instruction, and test proctoring accommodations for students with disabilities. In addition, the Learning Center serves as a scholarly pre-professional experience for undergraduate and graduate student employees.

Our 2025 One Ball State Day fundraising goals:

Our goal for One Ball State Day this year is to raise at least $1,500 for our Learning Center. This fund supports initiatives that enhance student success by providing resources such as training and professional development opportunities, including the annual Peer Academic Success Conference, for Learning Center student staff, including tutors, Supplemental Instruction leaders, and graduate assistants. Additionally, donations help fund essential needs such as supplies, materials, software, and technology to ensure the Learning Center remains a valuable resource for all students.

Your gift will help tutors like Emily, Camden, and El!

Here's what students are saying about their experiences with the Learning Center:

“My tutor was super knowledgeable in the course and helpful in every way possible."

“Tutoring helped a lot and I feel more confident with doing my work"

"I was nervous about tutoring at first, but Jaden made me feel a lot better about my knowledge and ability to solve the math problems provided."

"I am a senior, and this is my first time here. I wish I would've come sooner! Great program!"

“My tutor was amazing and very understanding They didn't make me feel weird for not knowing."

“My tutor is the best! Super kind, understanding, helpful, and resourceful! Great vibes!”

"I really loved having Juila as my SI leader!  She was always super helpful, positive, & an all-around amazing person to be around!"

“Shelby has been the best SI leader I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She was so encouraging and I could tell she genuinely wanted us to succeed. She used the perfect mixture of handouts and review games to facilitate learning. Shelby's sessions were not only super helpful, but also enjoyable and she had us looking forward to coming to SI each week.”
