Missed One Ball State Day? You can still make an impact.
Rinker Center for Global Affairs
Rinker Center for Global Affairs

The Rinker Center for Global Affairs connects Ball State University with the world through innovative global education opportunities. We foster collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships across campus and the glob and strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for our diverse global community. Comprised of International Student Success, Global Academic Partnerships, Study Abroad, Global Initiatives, and the Intensive English Institute, we support international students, scholars, and students studying abroad.

This year we invite you to celebrate One Ball State Day with a gift to any of our three funds described below.

1) Scholarships -- Alumni Fund for Study Abroad
This fund provides former study abroad students a way to “pay it forward” to future Cardinals Abroad. Donations expand access to life-changing opportunities for future generations through study abroad scholarships. Study Abroad programs give Ball State students an opportunity to explore outside the classroom and around the world. Many of our study abroad programs are led by BSU faculty members-- they develop high-impact courses to be taught internationally, perhaps for a summer session, a full semester, or even a quick trip during winter or spring break. This year over 300 BSU students will participate in a study abroad program!

2) International Student Emergencies -- Katherine Koontz Memorial Fund

Katherine Koontz, a beloved and regular presence at the Ball State International House, opened her heart and home to countless international students. In 1978 a fund was established in her memory which provides vital emergency financial support to international students facing unforeseen financial challenges ensuring they can continue their academic journey.

We invite you to support the Katherine Koontz Memorial Fund as part of One Ball State Day.

Imagine stepping off the plane, a world away from home, ready to embark on an incredible academic adventure. But what happens when the unexpected strikes? A sudden illness, a family crisis, or unforeseen travel complications can derail even the best-laid plans.

By contributing, you're not just helping a student; you're carrying on the legacy of Koontz, who was called “mom” by so many international students and who dedicated her life to supporting and welcoming international students to the Ball State family.

3) Passport Access -- Study Abroad General Fund

Gifts to the Study Abroad General Fund can support initiatives such as passport access grants, which help remove financial barriers for students eager to study abroad. A passport is the key that unlocks the world, but for some students, the cost of obtaining one is a barrier to studying abroad.

Your support makes study abroad possible—from the very first stamp in a student’s passport to the life-changing experiences that follow. Join us this One Ball State Day in opening the world to more Cardinals!
