The Ball State University Police Department believes in strengthening the bonds between our department and the community we serve. We do this through building bridges and developing relationships throughout the university and across Muncie. We actively provide educational opportunities for our community with programs such as Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event training, Citizen’s Police Academy, Self-Defense classes, Rape Aggression Defense courses, and more.
Daily, our officers can be found patrolling campus, the neighborhoods around campus, intersecting roadways, and walkways. You will also see our officers in the campus buildings, walking through campus, and being a visual beacon of our efforts to provide security and help to our community. We strive to connect with our community on a more personal level with our Housing Liaison and Lunch/Dinner-With-A-Cop programs. We encourage students to join us for a meal, share insights, and get to know each of our officers. Funds from One Ball State Day go a long way to ensure we have readily available means to provide for these various programs.
One Ball State Day to the Ball State Police Department is not just a day to raise funds. We view OBSD as an opportunity to further engage our community and thank those who continue to support us day-in and day-out. OBSD provides a great opportunity for us to continue to be seen and support our community while also allowing our officers and staff to see the appreciation our community has for the services we provide. We appreciate your help in continuing to provide top tier training and engagement to our community.
