Department of Marketing

Empower the Future of Marketing and Sales

The Department of Marketing at Ball State University offers two dynamic majors: Marketing and Professional Selling. Our programs equip students with the skills to thrive in the fast-evolving marketing landscape. As a student, you develop into an analytical and strategic thinker—capable of building relationships, making informed decisions, and creating real-world business solutions. Our graduates go on to work for businesses, nonprofits, and public-policy organizations in roles such as brand management, advertising, sales leadership, retail management, and marketing research.

Ball State's Center for Professional Selling is a proud member of the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA), a distinction that connects our students with national opportunities. Our cutting-edge sales labs provide industry-leading role-play technology, ensuring that students gain practical, hands-on experience that prepares them for successful careers in sales.

Students interested in sales can also join Ball State’s Sales Team, where they engage in high-stakes sales competitions, pitching products and services to industry professionals who serve as judges. These competitions build confidence, expertise, and invaluable connections with recruiters, sales managers, and business leaders.

Your Support Creates Opportunities

When you support the Department of Marketing and the Center for Professional Selling, you directly impact our students’ ability to compete in national sales competitions, attend Pi Sigma Epsilon and American Marketing Association national meetings, and engage in real-world learning experiences. Your gift helps us sustain our flagship events, attract top talent to our programs, and elevate the reputation of the center and the Miller College of Business.

Your generosity empowers the next generation of marketing leaders and business executives by providing them with an industry-driven curriculum and hands-on experiences that set them apart.

We’d love for you to visit and see your impact firsthand. Until then, know that our students and faculty are putting your support to work—advancing Indiana businesses through immersive learning experiences that deliver professional marketing, sales, and digital media solutions.
