Political Science
Thank you for supporting our students!

The Department of Political Science is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the political frontier through teaching and research. Our students strive to make better sense of the world and to make a difference in the community by working side-by-side with faculty on important events that are shaping today’s ever-changing political landscape.

Your gift helps fund programs and scholarships that help ease the financial burden for deserving students. Your donation directly impacts our undergraduate Political Science and Legal Studies majors, as well as our Master of Public Administration students.

Your gift helped and will help us engage our students in a variety of ways this year.

· We partnered once again with Student Government to bring the Ball State and Muncie community together for our traditional non-partisan Election Night Watch Party, giving students the opportunity to connect with the local and campus political organizations while enjoying good food and drink while the results came in.

· We hosted the Indiana Political Science Association’s annual state conference, giving students the chance to attend perhaps their first professional conference and giving others the opportunity to present their research.

· We cheered and supported our Mock Trial team, as they traveled to a variety of competitions, bringing home awards for best attorney and best witness.

· We hosted the Indiana Court of Appeals on Wheels at Emens Auditorium, which allowed students and the community a unique chance to watch an appellate case in action and to ask questions of three of Indiana’s appellate judges. One legal studies major (in the picture) worked on stage as the honorary bailiff, gaveling the court in and out of session.

· We sponsored a trip to the Indiana Statehouse, where students were able to meet legislators and their assistants, bringing awareness to state government and the advantages of legislative internships.

· We are planning our annual end of the year Senior Celebration, where our graduating seniors are recognized, our Outstanding Seniors in Political Science and Legal Studies are awarded, and our scholarships, which you help support, are awarded to deserving students.

Thank you for visiting our One Ball State Day page, proud home to majors in Political Science and Legal Studies. We are grateful for your support and for your generosity, which helps us to help the students of today become the professionals of tomorrow.
