Ball State PBS

The Public Media Accelerator (PMX) gives highly motivated students the opportunity to work at IPR and Ball State PBS while exploring potential careers in the dynamic world of public media. From audio/video production to marketing, community engagement, and news reporting, we offer a range of positions ensuring that students gain hands-on industry experience  

The PMX program features:   

  • paid work in a professional public media environment   
  • personal workspace in the new PMX Innovation Lab  
  • a dedicated academic professional who will make sure the student’s experience aligns with Ball State Public Media’s goal to create a high-impact learning practice  
  • ongoing career mentoring  
  • monthly lunch and learn sessions with nationally recognized media experts  
  • opportunities to participate in Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS) webinars and other public media learning opportunities  
  • networking opportunities in the industry  

Our focus is on creating a high-impact learning environment where academic professionals are dedicated to shaping the next generation of media professionals. Each student’s journey is carefully guided to align with our mission: connecting people with educational experiences and trusted stories.

Faculty, staff, and student social media challenge! Share a photo of your Benny Cutout to show a window into your Ball State world. Be sure to stamp your post with #OneBallState. Two random participants will get to donate $500 in challenge funds toward their favorite area.
