Center for Peace & Conflict Studies
Established in 1988, the Ball State University Center for Peace and Conflict Studies aims to support and pursue scholarship, education, training, consultation, and outreach focused on addressing direct, structural, and cultural forms of violence and conflict. Please visit this link to view our mission and goals.
In part, to achieve our mission and goals, we engage in the following activities:
Hosting an undergraduate minor in peace and conflict studies
Community outreach
Scholarship and service
Providing mediation services on campus and in the community
Offering conflict prevention and resolution training on and off campus
To date, we have been involved in peacebuilding activities locally, nationally, and internationally. Now, we need your support to strengthen and expand our efforts and reach!
Please consider donating to our Center to fund:
A Peace Plaza on Ball State’s campus (between College of Architecture and Miller College of Business);
Student scholarships to pursue research, service, and engage in presentations at professional conferences;
Training programs to teach university members and other individuals conflict prevention and resolution skills;
Community outreach programs (e.g., promote nonviolence; eradicate food deserts; teach youth and adults in Central Indiana conflict prevention and resolution skills; facilitate mutual understanding and respect between, for instance, diverse religious, racial, ethnic individuals); and
Research and evaluation projects focused on peace, nonviolence, and/or social justice.
We welcome any amount of financial support you can provide. With your contributions, together we can strive to create a more peaceful and just world! Thank you for considering our request!
