The Ball State University Police Department participates in a variety of community relations and crime prevention activities through the year. Over the last several years, efforts have increased as we have developed close and trusting relationships with our community. You can help increase our involvement with the community today. We are asking for donations to assist us with obtaining further resources to help implement our goals of increasing productive citizen contacts, establishing lasting relationships, and increasing our ability to patrol and engage in the community we serve.Daily, our officers can be found patrolling campus, the neighborhoods around campus, intersecting roadways, and walkways. You will also see our officers in the campus buildings, walking through campus, and being a visual beacon of our efforts to provide security and help to our community. Additionally, our officers participate in programs around campus such as, the Citizens Police Academy, Rape Aggression Defense training (RAD), College Mentors for kids, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events presentations (CRASE), numerous residence hall programs, and Lunch/Dinner with a Cop.
Programs of this nature currently pull from our department’s Training or Equipment budgets. Your donations today, for these programs, directly impacts department needs and will help offset expenses currently incurred by our police department. Help us continue providing top tier training and engagement to our officers and our community.
