Ball State Fund

Gifts designated to the Ball State Fund go to work for the University in immediate, practical ways–enhancing the academic experiences of current students who are poised to start living out their own dreams.

From providing financial aid and funding student research to maintaining first-rate facilities and more, your Ball State Fund gift improves the quality of our programs and services for students. It is the flexibility of the Ball State Fund to act quickly that gives your gift its power and keeps the University ahead of the curve.

For the first time ever, you now have the opportunity to name a Ball State University goose when you give to the Ball State fund!

Every year, hundreds of Ball State Geese are born nameless, wandering aimlessly through campus in search of identity. For years, this has been a problem that has gone unsolved, leading to an at-times contentious relationship between the geese and our student body. For just $19.18 to the Ball State fund, you can personally give one of these beautiful creatures a name. This act of good faith will not go unnoticed, as you will receive a personal Ball State digital certificate recognizing this selfless act. Do with this as you please; hang it up in your home, gift it to your friend, pass it down through your family for generations, the choice is yours! These geese need names.

Because we respect the dignity of our campus cohabitants, each name will get a thorough vetting, and while we enjoy a good laugh, we reserve the right to reject any name that we feel is inappropriate. If a name is rejected, your gift will not be refunded, so choose wisely, silly goose!

Please note: While the impact of your gift is real, this naming opportunity is purely symbolic. With your $19.18+ gift to the Ball State Fund, we hereby vest in you the power to point at any goose on Ball State's campus and call it by whatever name you choose. If you give after 5 p.m. you may receive your goose certificate the following day.
