Accounting

The Paul W. Parkison Department of Accounting provides students with numerous opportunities to be successful. The University is small enough that if you need help, there is always someone there to help, but large enough that the opportunities to succeed are endless. We are incredibly proud of the passion and resilience of our students.

Our undergraduate accounting and Master of Science (MS) degrees in accounting programs continue to be ranked among the best in the nation. The department continues to build toward an even greater future. Our MS program now focuses on research and analytics to prepare our students for additional career possibilities. We have also added two minors. The minor in financial information equips non-business majors with essential skills to thrive in business; the minor in accounting provides business majors with additional accounting insights beyond the required principles courses.

Only with external support like yours can we maintain the resources needed to provide an outstanding education to our accounting students. You are crucial to our success.

"The accounting program at Ball State University houses a plethora of opportunities for students to excel as leaders and future professionals. Paired with a culture of support, mentorship, and genuine care that stems from the Paul W. Parkison Department of Accounting faculty, this creates a learning environment where I feel encouraged both in the classroom and my post-collegiate pursuits." —Chloe Whaley, Senior Accounting Student, Former Accounting Club President, and Intern at EY.

"I love the accounting program here at Ball State University. The faculty are well-rounded, knowledgeable, and there for you inside and outside classrooms. They care about all the students and strive for their success and futures. I have found a true passion for accounting and without the great program and faculty, I would not have the same experience. There are also many opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally, with great programs and clubs to help students find their fit and succeed. " — Meredith Johnson, BS of Accounting Student, Publicity Chair of the Accounting Club

The Master’s in accounting program is a community that fosters collaboration and growth. I have not only been able to sharpen my accounting skills that I developed in the undergraduate accounting program, but I have become a more well-rounded professional by being able to work on my communication and public speaking skills. I have seen exponential growth in myself during my time in the Master’s program so far and I am excited for what is to come!"  — Elsa Rhodes, MS Accounting Student and Graduate Assistant
