We seek to make ROTC a more viable choice for national scholarship winners and provide a resource for existing cadets to attend professional development events around the country. ROTC scholarships will cover only tuition and fees or room and board. Many universities, Indiana University, in particular, have been able to build an additional scholarship fund to help cadet to cover tuition or room and board in part. This helps incoming students to defray those costs not covered by an ROTC scholarship and helps to attract some of the best and brightest incoming students in Indiana. We wish to build a similar scholarship fund to help attract these students to Ball State. Although small, this is the Cardinal Battalion’s way to help Ball State attract the best students to an incredible educational experience. This fund would also help to defray expenses for student travel to professional events. Throughout the academic year, our students attend military events in Indiana, Ohio, New Mexico, and Tennessee. Several of these events add to students’ military qualifications, which they carry with them into the Army upon graduation. Helping the Cardinal Battalion is a direct investment in Ball State, and prepares the next generation of Army leaders.
