Gamma Theta Upsilon Travel Fund- This is an honors society for geography students. Funds are used to travel to academic conferences so that students may professionally network, attend presentations and workshops, and learn about and engage with emerging research within the discipline. These funds have supported previous trips to national conferences of the American Association of Geographers in Washington D.C. (2010 and 2019), New York City (2012), Tampa (2014), Chicago (2015), and Boston (2017).
Hurlbut-Leak Scholarship
Jim Leak began this fund made in memory of the late Dr. Hurlbut who established the Muncie Travel Service in 1952. Dr. Hurlbut was also a Professor of Geography at Ball State for many years. This award is based on a student's grade point average and service to the department.
Fidler Award in Meteorology and Climatology
Given to an Atmospheric Science student displaying academic excellence.
Odom Award in Meteorology and Climatology
Given to an Atmospheric Science student displaying diligent service to the department and discipline.
