School of Kinesiology
Kinesiology: The study of the impact of physical activity on health, society, and quality of life.

Our School continues to build on our commitment to excellence with our extraordinary and committed faculty and emeriti faculty, dedicated staff, highly successful alumni, and crucial external partnerships. We have four undergraduate majors, eight active Masters Programs, one Doctoral Program, and we deliver the Physical Fitness and Wellness University core requirement.

We are guided by our vision statement which includes on-going development of distinctive programs that share important values such as commitment to academic rigor, experiential learning which develops core professional behaviors expected in real-world employment, and faculty scholarship which attains national and international recognition for excellence and may inform class content. The state-of-the-art facilities at our disposal including the JoAnn Gora Student Recreation and Wellness Center, as well as seven teaching and research laboratories, ranging from the venerated Human Performance Laboratory to the Athletic Training Research and Education Laboratories, opened in the new Health Professions Building this year. Other highly equipped laboratories include the Biomechanics Laboratory, the Integrated Exercise Physiology Laboratory, the Undergraduate Exercise Science and First Aid Laboratory, and the clinical exercise physiology laboratory.

We are responsive to a new generation of learners, and so in recent years, we have created an interactive learning classroom, an updated contemporary computer lab, and comfortable student huddle spaces, all in our building. We enjoy a culture of teaching and research excellence in our School, a culture which has been established over the many decades since 1918. Your donation will support our mission and vision to help the School continue to foster a culture of excellence now and throughout the future.
