Ball State Learning Center - One Ball State Day 2022

What is the Learning Center?

The Learning Center is part of University College, which offers student-centered programs and services that enhance students’ success. The mission of the Learning Center is to enhance the academic success of Ball State University students by providing free peer tutoring, academic coaching, supplemental instruction, and test proctoring and accommodations for students with disabilities. In addition, the Learning Center serves as a scholarly pre-professional experience for undergraduate and graduate student employees.

Our 2022 One Ball State Day fundraising goals:

Our goal for One Ball State Day this year is to raise at least $1,500 for our Learning Center. These donations help provide financial support for training and professional development endeavors for the Learning Center student staff, including tutors, Supplemental Instruction leaders, Academic Coaches, and graduate assistants.

Your gift will help tutors like Kendra....

"I like being a tutor because I love helping my clients reach an 'ah-ha!' moment and truly understand the course material. I can see how much my clients want to pursue their careers and I love being a part of their support team!" - Kendra L.

Here's what students are saying about their experiences with the Learning Center:

"I really appreciate the help Onome is providing. My course is not typically a course offered at the Learning Center, but she is still able to help me so much. She makes concepts so much clearer."

"Rachel was the best and helped me understand chemistry so much better! I do not think I would have done as well in the class without Rachel."

"Alex was EXTREMELY helpful. I was scared before this session about this test. I feel like I will be ready for the test now."

"I have used the SI program for several semesters and it has been such a help to me. Ravyn brings lots of energy and helps to make learning physiology fun."

"I really enjoyed our tutor session! It was very helpful!"

"Ashlyn was such a great SI leader! I feel like I learned so much from her and her handouts. I also really enjoyed the games we played to study such as kahoot and factile! I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from her."

"Lillie is the best tutor I've had!!"
