Name a Goose

Name a Ball State Goose – Make Your Mark on Campus!

They rule the sidewalks. They supervise the Scramble Light. Now, they finally have a name.

Back by popular demand: now’s your chance to officially name a Ball State University goose. Every year, hundreds of our feathered "campus supervisors" roam the Quad and patrol the Green without an identity. For a gift of $19.18 (honoring our founding year) or more to the Ball State Fund, you can give one of these campus icons a name—and make a life-changing difference for Ball State students.

The Perks of the Patron

When you name a goose, you’ll receive an exclusive digital certificate recognizing your generosity. Display it with pride, share it on social media, or keep it as a one-of-a-kind BSU keepsake. Your support lives on in the legacy of our campus.

Want even more "feathered power"? Gifts of $20.26 or more grant you the unofficial authority to point at any goose on campus and address it by its new name. It’s a Ball State rite of passage!

Real Support for Real Cardinals

While this naming opportunity is symbolic, your impact is very real. Your contribution directly supports the Ball State Fund to provide essential support the University's top priority projects and programs.

Every "named goose" helps real Cardinals like Jonathan thrive.

The "Fine Print" for Our Gaggle:

  • Choose Wisely: To keep our community thriving, all names are vetted for respect and school spirit. Silly puns are welcome, but inappropriate names will be sent back to the nest!
  • The "Night Watch": Our digital team rests at night. If you make your gift after 7:00 p.m., your personalized digital certificate will arrive in your inbox the following morning.
  • Symbolic Connection: We don't put luggage tags on the geese (they prefer to travel light), so your naming right is a symbolic gesture of your BSU pride.

Don’t wait—the geese are waiting for their names!
