Educational Leadership

For this year’s One Ball State Day, you can support the Department of Educational Leadership in meaningful and lasting ways. Gifts may be directed to one of four dedicated funds, each designed to strengthen our students, programs, and impact:

  • Marilynn Quick Endowed School Leadership Fund - This newly established endowed fund honors the legacy of Dr. Marilynn Quick and her longstanding commitment to preparing exceptional school leaders. Contributions help ensure that future generations of principals and educational leaders have access to the resources, mentorship, and professional opportunities needed to thrive. Because this is an endowed fund, your gift creates lasting impact for years to come.

  • Department of Educational Leadership's General Fund - The Department’s General Fund provides flexible support for emerging needs and strategic priorities. Gifts to this fund help advance priorities such as student experiences, faculty initiatives, program development, and special projects that strengthen the overall vitality and excellence of the Department.

  • SAAHE Program Fund - The SAAHE Program Fund supports the continued growth and advancement of the Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (SAAHE) program. Contributions enhance priorities such as professional development opportunities, student engagement initiatives, conference participation, and experiential learning that prepare graduates to lead and serve in higher education settings.

  • Social Justice Research in Higher Education Award - The Social Justice Research in Higher Education Award is designed to promote equity-centered scholarship among students in the Ed.D. in Higher Education program. This fund sustainably supports recognizing and encouraging research that advances social justice in higher education policy, practice, and leadership.

About Us:

The Educational Leadership Department in Teachers College, Ball State University, is one of the most vibrant and well-known academic units at the university and in Indiana. Our online Master's in Educational Administration and Supervision programs is consistently nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report. Ball State is a steady provider of school principals and school superintendents in Indiana.

In 2018-2019 the Educational Leadership Department moved from a P-12 to a P-16 program with the addition of three full-time faculty with a focus on higher education and community college leadership. This move has created a new dynamic that has brought an expanded programmatic perspective to the preparation of educational leaders at Ball State. We are now home of the Master’s Program in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (SAAHE). Begun in 1965, SAAHE has graduated hundreds of outstanding higher education leaders across the nation and world. We are also home to the Ed.D. in Higher Education, a doctoral program which prepares students to lead within colleges and universities around the country and globe.
