Environment, Geology, and Natural Resources

In 2019 the Geological Sciences and Natural Resources and Environmental Management departments merged to become the new Department of Environment, Geology, and Natural Resources.

We still maintain the wonderful features and feel of the original departments, but now have combined resources to become even more effective and efficient. This merger formalizes the many collaborations our faculty and students have been doing for years.

We continue to be student centered and work to provide our students with the most personalized and hands-on experiences possible. Our students not only learn traditional ideas and techniques in the classroom, but also become involved in our communities where they use what they have learned to help solve issues.

COVID -19 update:

With everything that’s going on in the world, why are we asking you for money? Because there still remains strong need. Not just our majors; every student in every major. We have been very pleased with how well our student have adjusted to the COVID safety protocols. We are working to return to a new sense of normalcy with more in-person courses while still maintaining our successful safety procedures. We are pleased with how we are moving forward and believe we are constantly making strides to overcome the challenges that COVID created.

If you aren’t in a position to give right now, no problem. We understand.

If you are willing and able to give, we welcome you to give directly to our department to help our students more directly. Either way, we are so grateful for your continued support – especially in these uncertain times!

Thank you for your commitment to Ball State University.

We hope you will consider giving any amount you can to help us support our students through:

   - research support

   - scholarships

   - general support

All your donations are used to help create a better learning environment for our students. Just Click the GIVE NOW button at the top and choose the fund you want to support.
