Philosophy and Religious Studies
Philosophy and Religious Studies continues to be a student- and community-centered department, preparing students to enter satisfying careers and contribute to communities in Indiana and beyond. We invite our alumni and other friends to support our efforts to build on this tradition by donating to the Philosophy and Religious Studies Student Awards and Activities fund.
To give you a sense of the kinds of activities your gift will make possible, here’s a list of some of our recent faculty-led success stories. Our students:
- Created the first-ever documentary film exploring Muncie’s multi-ethnic Muslim community. It can be seen online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEN-BYCNO1w&t=577s
- Continue to publish the award-winning, international student philosophy journal, STANCE: https://www.stancephilosophy.com/
- Work with high school faculty around the state to create philosophy clubs and sponsor an annual Hoosier high school philosophy conference. This year's conference is on April 14th. https://philosophyoutreachproject.bsu.edu/
- Engage with Muncie-area organizations dedicated to combating hunger.
Your gift today will support an array of similar activities, while also helping us to:
- host alumni campus visits for career-networking events
- facilitate the activities of our two student organizations, Religious Conversation Hour and the Philosophy Club
- honor the accomplishments of our talented students during our annual, year-end, Student Recognition Day.
