In TCOM classes, students work on real projects with real community partners. Projects such as Cardinal Cinema, SoundLink, Cardinal Compass, and Dr. Guo's audience analysis project with WTHR-TV.
These immersive projects--and the other high-impact experiences we offer--develop students' career-related skills while building their professional portfolios. They are important opportunities for our students, but they require more resources than traditional courses.
This One Ball State Day we're asking you to support the newly rechristened TCOM Immersive Learning Support Fund, a fund that allows the TCOM department to offer small, one-time grants to faculty who take on immersive learning projects in their classes. Grant dollars can support student travel and lodging needs, dedicated media storage, website domains and support, research supplies, software, publicity costs, and other promotional materials.
