Is there a minimum gift amount?
The minimum gift amount is $5.
Is my One Ball State day gift tax-deductible?
Yes, of course! Your official gift receipt for tax purposes will be emailed immediately after you make your gift. Please consult your tax advisor for advice related to your specific tax situation.
What funds are available?
The University areas that agreed to participate are featured on the One Ball State Day site. If you’d like to make a gift to a fund not listed, please go to bsu.edu/give.
I gave earlier this year. Does that gift count?
Only gifts made on April 1, 2026 during the 24-hour online effort count for One Ball State Day. We celebrate all our donors year-round, no matter when gifts are made. OBSD is a giving day specific to a particular time as we celebrate the University and our impact across the world.
What are giving challenges?
Giving challenges are One Ball State Day contests that will earn additional funds for One Ball State Day causes on April 1, 2026.
Can I direct a gift from my donor advised fund for One Ball State Day?
Yes! Using a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a smart, tax-efficient way to participate in One Ball State Day. To make sure your contribution lands exactly where you want it to, here is a quick summary of the details you will need for your DAF portal:
Organization Name: Ball State University Foundation
Organization Address: 2800 W. Bethel Ave, Muncie, IN 47304
Tax ID (EIN): 35-6024566
Designation: In the “Note” or “Purpose” section of your grant request, clearly state the fund name or academic area you are supporting. Please also include the notation of “2026 One Ball State Day.”
Impact: Even if the check arrives after the event, it will be counted toward the final official One Ball State Day totals.
Since DAF grants aren’t instantaneous, sending a quick heads up to us helps track the incoming gift and perhaps be credited to a leaderboard or challenge. Send notification email to giftadmin@bsu.edu.
